As my musical life and web site expand, it becomes time to help Internet
surfers with a site map to more quickly see what I have to offer (or not).
To save us both time - very quickly:
I am NOT a music store.
I am NOT a record company.
I am NOT an instrument appraiser.
I make NO money from the many hundreds of web pages I present, only a small
amount from sales of my CDs (thank you to my patrons!).
I AM a part-time professional musician, plucked string instrument collector
and historian. I’m happy to share my research and experience with fellow
instrument fans, and to answer questions when I can. In return, I encourage you
to support my work with a CD purchase (if not now, then remember me at Christmas
time!) – heck, for five bucks, you can get 2 tapes and 2 glossy color
booklets that cost me more than that to produce.
Thanks!
Gregg Miner
Basically, this site can be boiled down to these two parts (click on

stringed instruments

- What’s New
– updates on newly added instrument research pages, or
perhaps a new instrument I’ve added to the Museum.
- The Miner Museum (of Vintage, Exotic & Just Plain Unusual Musical
Instruments) – two choices:
- The 100 Instruments of
"A Christmas Collection"
– this page duplicates
(and occasionally updates) the images and essays from my
Christmas Collection booklets. 27 groups of instruments (coinciding with
CD tracks). Also links to:
- Recent Acquisitions
– images and short write-ups on some (but by no means
all) of the interesting new instruments I’ve managed to obtain since the
above project was completed in 1995. Links to larger, special sections
include:
- The Knutsen Archives – links to my huge, separate site
(now a part of HG.net) documenting the
previously little-understood harp guitars, Hawaiian guitars, mandolins and
ukuleles by this important American maker.
- Harpguitars.net
- links to my new super site.
